Fra Lorcheneset ser vi over "Aalesundet" til Apotekertorget. Det er en av torgdagene/bylørdagene i Ålesund fra 1999.

Fra Lorkenestorget ser vi over mot Apotekertorget. Fra venstre Norges Bank (nå Møre og Romsdal fylkesgalleri) KUBE - Apotekergården (nå Jugenstilsenteret) og Stafsethbua.

Fiskebåter - store og små - har alltid hørt hjemme i Ålesund. Her ligger fire av dem ved Apotekertorget. I bakgrunnen ser vi husrekka langs Skansegata. Det er god kontakt med det maritime miljøet, som har vært grunnlaget for byens vekst og trivsel. ------
Fishing boats - large and small - have always belonged in Ålesund. Four of them can be seen lying here alongside Apotekertorget. The row of houses along Skansegata is visibel in the background. Relations have always been good with the maritime environment which has played a fundamental role in the growth and prosperity of the town.
KVELD I INDRE HAVN
På indre havn en gang i 1960 åra. Båtene ligger på rekke og rad, en sen stille kveld.
De ligger her for å proviantere til ny fisketur på feltet.

I hjertet av Ålesund har vi utsikt fra Notenesgata over Indre havn mot Apotekergata og Bakkegata. Her får vi med oss mye av det mest karakteristiske for den gamle sentrumsbebyggelsen fra tida like etter Bybrannen i 1904. ------
In the heart of Ålesund, looking across the inner harbour towards Apotekergata and Bakkegata from Notenesgata, and depicting many of the most characteristic traits of the buildings in the old town centre dating back to the time just after the great fire in 1904.

Ålesund indre havn fra nært hold. Alle bygningene er blant
klenodiene i jugendstilsbyen, bygd i de første åra etter
bybrannen i 1904. Lengst til venstre har vi fått med litt av Norges Bank, så følger mot høyre Svaneapoteket,
Stafseth-huset, Stafseth-bua og Spjelkavikbua. ------

A wintery atmosphere in Ålesund’s inner harbour. On the left is Apotekertorget and some of the town’s most famous buildings which were rebuilt after the town fire in 1904. One of the names used for this part of Brosundet is Naftadjupet (the Naphtha Depths).

Ei snøbyge har skapt vinterlig stemning over Ålesund indre havn. Vi ser fra Noteneset mot Hellebroa og Apotekertorget. Dette velkjente motivet blir stadig fornyet av skiftende lys
og forandringer i været. ------
A snowfall has created a wintery atmosphere in Ålesund`s inner habour. We are looking from Noteneset towards Hellebroa and Apotekertorget. This familiar motive is constantly renewed by
variations in the light and changes in the weather.
Ålesund indre havn IV
Motiv fra Ålesund indre havn. Vi ser fra Apotekertorget til venstre, og så kommer Apotekergata 9 (Stafseth-huset, ei av de finerst jugendstilbyggningene i byen), - Spjelkavikbua og Bersetbua. I det sistnevnte et det nå Brosundet Gjestehus holder til.

Fra Skansegata ser vi innover – Aalesundet, og har Apotekertorget i bakgrunnen. Til venstre fiskebåter som selger av fangstene sine ved kaikanten (byens fisketorg).

By the jetty in Ålesund
Moljå, er det ålesundske uttrykket for moloen. Selve moloen er fra 1954, fyrtårnet kom på plass i 1858. Havnemoloen Molja, og de nærmeste omgivelsene er et interessant strøk å spasere i. Her er man i det virkelige gamle Ålesund fra 1800-tallet. Og med fin utsikt til deler av byens sentrum. ----------
Moljå is the Ålesund word for jetty. The actual jetty was built in 1854, and the lighthouse was completed in 1858. The harbour jetty, Molja, and its nearby surroundings are
interesting areas for walk. They are located in the really old part of Ålesund which dates back to the 19th century, and there is a great view towards part of the town centre.
ÅLESUND VED MOLJA -----
Skansekaia heter kaia til høyre, den ligger på Nørvøy-sida av havna. Herfra ser vi over mot bebyggelsen på Aspøy-sida. Aspøy skole ruver stor og gul. Havnemoloen - Moljå med Moljafyret . Vi ser litt av bebyggelsen som ikke strøket strøk med under Bybrannen i 1904. ------------
The wharf on the right, which lies on the Nørvøy side of the harbour, Is called Skansekaia. From here we can see across towards the buildings on the Aspøy side of town, the harbour breakwater - Moljå and the Molja Lighthouse - with the large, yellow building of Aspøy School towering above. We can also see some of the buildings which were not devastated by the great fire in 1904

ser vi gamle restaurerte sjøbuer i Molovegen, som blant annet
innholder fiskerimuseum – teaterfabrikken og andre kunst og

En snefull og fuktig dag er vi i Notenesgata og ser over Ålesundet mot sjøbudene (fiskebuene) i Apotekergata. Byggningene fra gjenreisningstida etter Bybrannen står der som trauste minner om virksomheten med fisk i sentrum av byen, en virksohet som var selve grunnlaget for Ålesund fremvekst og videre eksistens. -------------
A damp, snowy day in Notenesgata, looking out over the Ålesund Sound towards the fishing sheds on the wharf in Apotekergata. These buildings, which date back to the time of the restoration following the great fire, stand as faithfull reminders of the fishing activites which once took place in the centre of the town and provided the very basis for Ålesund`s growth and continued existence.
Ved Briksdalsbreen -------
Briksdalsbreen er en utløper av Jostedalsbreen, kanskje Vestlandes mest berømte brearm. På den sjarmerende vei med steinbru og fossefall, kan fjordingen trekke deg i stolkjerre helt frem til breen. --------------
The Briksdal Glacier is an arm of the Jostedal Glacier, and is probably western Norway`s most famous glacier. You can ride right up to the glacier along this charming road with its stone bridge and waterfall in a jaunting car pulled by a Norwegian Pony.
Atlanterhavsparken på Tuneset. ---------
Lengst vest i Ålesund ligger Atlanterhavsparken, en av byens og distriktets store stoltheter, akvariet. Den innholdsrike attraksjonen ligger skånsomt plassert i terrenget, og anlegget glir vakkert inn i omgivelsene - det sunnmørske kystlandskapet. ----------
The aquarium is located in the most westerly part of Ålesund in the Atlantic Ocean Park, the pride and joy of the town and the district. This extensive attraction has been carefully sited in the terrain so that the buildings merge well into their surroundings - the coastal landscape of Sunnmøre.

Fra fjellheimen på vestsida av Hjørundfjorden i Ørsta kommune. Det er Grøtdalstindane rett opp for Sæbø vi ser i forgrunnen, Nøvedalstindane like bak. I bakgrunnen til venstre kan vi skimte Kolåstind. ---------
From the mountainous wastes on the western side of Hjørundfjord in the municipality of Ørsta. In the
forground we can see the Grøtdal peaks just above Sæbø, with the Nøvedal peaks just behind. Mt. Kolås can just be glimpsed in the background on the left.
"SLOGEN" Dette er utvilsomt en av landets vakreste tilder. Slogen med sine 1.564 meter opp på nordsida av Nordangsfjorden. Slogen er rangert som den lettest tilkommlige av Sunnmørsalpene.
GRØTDALSTINDANE
GRØTDALSTINDANE (THE GRØTDAL PEAKS) ----------
Grøtdalstindane i Ørsta kommune (1334 m.o.h.). Grøtdaltindane kan man bestige fra Bondalen ved å ta seg opp i Frølandsdalen og lett videre til den sydligste topp. Derfra morsom klatring via mellomste topp til Nordre Grøtdalstind. ----------
Grøtdalstindane in the municipality of Ørsta (1,334 metres above sea level). Grøtdaltindane can be climbed by approaching it from the Bondalen Valley and then the Frølandsdalen Valley, followed by an easy climb to the southernmost peak. The northern peak can then be reached after enjoyable climb via the middle peak.
REINDALSETRA I TAFJORDFJELLA --------
Norddal kommune, ved Reindalsetra i Tafjordfjella, finnes denne storfurua. Den er virkelig et syn å se, og en blir ikke mindre facinerende når man får vite at den er ca 1000 år gammel. Den er nå fredet ved Norsk Lov. I det nærmeste nabolaget til furua lå det fire sager dervet av vannkraft. ---------
This giant pine tree is to be found in the municipality of Norddal, not far from Reindalsetra in the Tafjord Mountains. It is a fantastic sight, which is by no means diminished when one learns that it is 1,000 years old. It is now protected by Norwegian law. In the neighbouring vicinity of the tree there used to four sawmills driven by water
"FRA LIABYGDA" Nede ved sjøen i Liabygda (Stranda kommune), ser vi over fjorden mot Skrenakken. Nausta er flere hundre år gamle.
"SKORGURA I ØRSTA"
Vi er i Skorgura i Ørsta kommune. Kvernhusa ble bygd og brukt av folket på begge sider av Ørstafjorden. I slutten av 1950-åra ble de restaurert.

Gamle seterhus på Urdasætra i Norangsdalen (Ørsta kommune). Bygningene er tilpasset naturen de står i. Disse små praktverka finner man langs den dramatiske vegen mellom Øie og Tryggestad. ----------

art can be found along the dramatic road which runs between
Øye and Tryggestad.
